separated the combatants at game's end. The Streator Reds ended a long
winless drought and won by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Streator was
victorious in the 11th inning. Hank Blalock ripped a solo home run giving
Streator the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Streator
finished with 7 hits in the victory.
Jonathan Papelbon(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Sean White(2-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. Streator, who had been
struggling lately, moved their record to 29-56. They are now 1-9 in their
last ten games. With this loss, Chainsaw has a 5-5 record of late, 40-45
overall.
